Our historic cricket clubhouse is perfect to catch up with friends, host a retreat, family gathering or event in beautiful natural surroundings! Escape to a historic cricket ground turned boutique retreat, just 90 minutes from Sydney in the serene Dooralong Valley. This unique property offers exclusive access to four distinct accommodations hosting up to 10 overnight guests, while our expansive grounds and historic clubhouse can accommodate events for up to 80 people. The heart of the property is our charming clubhouse, featuring an original bar from the Sydney Hilton Hotel, fully equipped kitchen, pool table, and comfortable lounge area. Set against a backdrop of redwood and pine forest, bordered by Jilliby Creek, the grounds include a pristine cricket oval perfect for outdoor gatherings and events. Whether you're planning a corporate retreat, intimate wedding, family reunion, or weekend escape with friends, we offer a versatile space where both small and large groups can thrive. While our accommodations sleep 10 guests comfortably, we welcome event bookings for up to 80 people, working closely with you to create an experience tailored to your vision. For overnight stays, enjoy exclusive access to all four of our unique accommodations and facilities. For events, our team will collaborate with you to transform our historic grounds and clubhouse into the perfect venue for your gathering. Guest Access: When you book the entire property, you and your guests will enjoy complete privacy with exclusive access to: Four unique accommodations, comfortably hosting up to 10 guests • Redwood Glamping Tent (1 queen bed) • Jilliby Creek Glamping Tent (1 queen bed) • The Burrow Glamping Dome (1 king bed) • Family Nature Lodge (1 queen, 2 single beds) The fully appointed clubhouse with: • A full kitchen for preparing meals • A bar area featuring the original bar from the Sydney Hilton Hotel (no alcohol is provided or for sale) • A snooker/pool table for entertainment • Air conditioning • Ice machine • Lounge and TV area • The cricket oval for outdoor activities • The surrounding pine and redwood forests for peaceful nature walks • BBQ facilities and sports equipment for fun outdoor activities • Jilliby Creek at the northern boundary of the property for wildlife spotting or quiet reflection Your stay, event or retreat will have private, exclusive use of all accommodations and communal spaces on the property, excluding the private residence in a seperate area on the property. At Unwind Escapes, we prioritise your privacy and tranquility. While we, the hosts, live on the property, our approach is designed to be hands-off, allowing you to fully enjoy the serenity of the natural surroundings. We provide detailed instructions with directions and check-in information, enabling 24-hour contactless check-in for your convenience and peace of mind. Our property does not offer a restaurant or food services. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and utilise our kitchenette and BBQ facilities. Please note that while our kitchenette is well-equipped with essentials, it is not designed for cooking large amounts of food and is not a full kitchen. For those seeking dining options, there are several take-out restaurants located just 20 minutes from the property, providing a great alternative. This setup gives you full autonomy over your stay, allowing you to tailor your experience to your preferences. Location and Accessibility • Proximity: Located just 90 minutes from Sydney and 60 minutes from Newcastle. • Access: Access is by car only, with limited public transport or ride-sharing options available. Pets • The property is pet-friendly, but pets must be kept on a leash due to the proximity of wildlife and neighbouring horses. Quiet Hours • Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am to maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the retreat. On-Site Activities and Attractions • Sports and Recreation: Sports equipment available for use on the oval, a snooker table in the clubhouse, and a forest at the back of the property. • Nearby Activities: Walking and 4WD trails in the nearby Olney State Forest. Services and Staff • On-Site Staff: No full-time on-site staff, but we can connect you with local services if required.
